The question I have is a simple one, but all I get is gobblygoop answers. I'm in no way trying to isult anyone, could you please just tell me what to do without getting techno-wizard on me? Everytime I open my manuscript, the text appears red with underlines, strikethroughs and outside borders and I have to go into Track Changes and Final Markup and turn everything off. Then I select save and close out. The following day, I reopen the document and there's the red, underlined text again.

I am an old man and I don't understand the technical jargon; could someone please, in a very simple way, tell me what button to hit to keep this from continuing? I /637.txt think I'm asking to much.

Whatever help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. When you turn off Track Changes and switch to Final view, you haven't removed the tracking of the changes you've made -- they're still in the document, but you just can't see them. The next time you open the document, Word shows you those existing changes again.
